Required Tools Spell(book), Empty Scroll, Reagents

The Inscription skill is used to create spell scrolls, from an empty scroll, reagents and mana. In order to inscribe a spell it is necessary to know the spell: It has to be in the scribe's spellbook. Furthermore a certain minimum magery skill is necessary to create scrolls of the appropriate circle. The scribe is also able to create runebooks.

Minimum Requirements for Inscribing Spells

  • When scribing scrolls you need to have the Spells you want to scribe in your spellbook, your spellbook must be in your hands or in your backpack and you must have the necessary reagents on you. A blank scroll has to be in range so you can target it when asked what to inscribe. In range meaning: in your backpack or somewhere close where you can reach it if you wanted to pick it up.
  • While the Inscription skill is scaled towards needing a higher skill in order to provide a better chance of inscribing higher-Circle scrolls, the Magery skill determines which Spell Circle are actually available to the caster. For example, a mage with 75 inscription and 60 magery cannot scribe 7th circle scrolls, as they are beyond his capability as a mage. However, magery has no influence on the crafting success.
Spell Circle	Spellcasting Experience Requirement	INT/Mana*	Magery
First -- 4	1.1
Second Must be able to cast the second circle	6	6.1
Third Must be able to cast the third circle	9	16.1
Fourth Must be able to cast the fourth circle	11	26.1
Fifth Must be able to cast the fifth circle	14	36.1
Sixth Must be able to cast the sixth circle	20	51.8
Seventh Must be able to cast the seventh circle	40	66.1
Eighth Must be able to cast the eighth circle	50	80.1
  • Regardless of failure or success when scribing scrolls, an inscription attempt will always use up reagents and the blank scroll. Success will result in loss of mana while failures will not.
